Mike Scott, LMT, CSF

Equine Therapist, Saddle Fitter and Owner of EMMT
Mike became certified in human massage therapy in 1986. For the next several years he enjoyed a very successful practice that brought him around the world working with USAT&F events, Boston Marathons, Olympic trials and his steady clientele at home. He worked very closely with referrals from MDs, PTs, Chiropractors and other MTs.

Shortly after his completion of studies at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester MA in human massage he started to pursue his love and interest in therapy for the horse. After establishing a clientele and gaining much experience, he started teaching the Equine Massage / Muscle Therapy training courses. He also authored “The Basic Principles of Equine Massage/Muscle Therapy” (book and video) and several other DVDs.

In 1991, Mike started teaching intro courses and in 1994 his techniques evolved into a certification program in conjunction with Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. In 2002, Mike went independent with his Equine Massage/Muscle Therapy programs to better educate more ambitious potential equine massage therapists.

Joyce Falese, LMT

Head Instructor
Joy has been a human and equine massage therapist for more than 20 years, and has taught and worked with Mike most of that time. She brings to the program not only previous experience as a high school teacher, but also a thorough knowledge of a wide variety of bodywork modalities.

Joy studied myofascial release with Howard Rontal, the trigger point method of Bonnie Prudden, and more recently has been certified in the use of kinesiotape and in blading (instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation). She is a Reiki practitioner. Joy lives in Camden and works in both South Carolina and Wellington, Florida.

Also offered is a mentor program that is geared to the individual. Mike takes 1-2 students at a time for the determined amount of time. While the student gets ample class material, the most influence is in the field. Students learn first-hand techniques, ethics, boundaries, gait evaluation and anatomy that make one a successful therapist. Generally the morning is observation of ‘real’ clients while afternoon class time is focused on individual needs.

Contact Mike via email for info on fees and clinics in your location.
